Celebrating the launch event of WeQ

We celebrated the launch of WeQ in Berlin’s Kulturbrauerei Kino (aka German for “cinema”), a stone’s throw from our company HQ in Berlin.

To kick off our brand launch, the WeQs our team of mobile experts got together (popcorn and soda in hand) for a film-themed, fun-filled evening. The event commenced in the kino’s screening room with a comprehensive brand presentation, showcased by our CMO John Schlüter. The WeQ brand unveiling covered all bases: starting from our new name and branding, to our brand video (you can watch it here) and of course, also included our company roadmap and plans for the next year. Our CPO Steffen Wachenfeld took us through the new solutions we have launched, as well as those in the pipeline for the near future. Our CPeO Kerstin Feix also took to the stage to discuss the topic of employer branding and company culture. Finally, our CEO Markus Malti presented WeQ’s company mission for disrupting the ad tech ecosystem: that is, to empower advertisers with leading mobile marketing solutions, leveraging our mobile expertise and purpose-built, state-of-the-art technology. After the “screening”, the team enjoyed some delicious fresh food in the foyer, courtesy of Berlin Cuisine. We were spoilt for choice between pasta, Lucha Libre Mexican-style food, Asian poke bowls and succulent burgers. For dessert, we treated ourselves to freshly-made waffles and a selection of nostalgia-inducing candy treats. As for drinks, the bar handed out a selection of refreshments throughout the evening.

Entertainmentwise, the Oscar-themed photo booth was a popular draw, as were the groovy DJ sets. We harbor real musical talents within the WeQ team, so we were delighted to have our very own Luca Evangelista (Senior Key Account Manager) aka “Bigote” who you’d regularly catch in Berlin’s clubbing hot spots warming up the WeQ crowd on the decks with his signature disco-influenced sound. His opening was followed by none other than our CPO Steffen Wachenfeld, who surprised the team with his first performance at WeQ, and rocked the dancefloor with a selection of funky house tunes.

We couldn’t have asked for a more exciting, fun and perfect start to our new journey in the ad tech ecosystem! This is the start of an exciting new chapter for WeQ and we can’t wait to see what’s next. We hope you’re as excited as we are!
